Ag-Id Pty Ltd
Overview
| Ag-Id Pty. Ltd. (founded by J. Pfistershammer in 2002) is in the process of creating a complete system for tracing the identities of individual livestock animals and their meat products from farm gate to dinner plate. The basis of its strategy is the commercialization of its novel INTEGRI range of products that consist of the INTEGRI-Seal, a 2-D based information code certification, the INTEGRI-Tags, a range of tissue-collecting and preserving identification devices, and the free storage of the INTEGRI-Cone 100-well plates in its “Tissue Storage Centre” (TSC). Ag-Id currently have under R&D the INTEGRI-Accessor, a fully automated device that reads the Cones’ IDs, pneumatically opens the Cones, fills them with more liquid preservative, shreds the tissue sample, and re-seals the Cones. There is also the ReporterPlateTM, an ultra low cost DNA analysis platform technology, which, along with its proprietary instrumentation and range of consumables, facilitates the most rapid as well as commercially sustainable DNA fingerprint assaying. Combining all these novel technologies will significantly lower the cost to the user and enhance the credibility of any meat production enterprise. |

Technology/IP
The INTEGRI-TAG™ SYSTEM is the first step in a more efficient and effective DNA analysis processes. The system facilitates in a seamless fashion the fail-safe:
- trace-back of future products from the animal;
- genetic profiling of an animal for breeding and management;
- theft-proofing by verifying the ownership by DNA comparison.
The INTEGRI-TAG™ SYSTEM will enable the effective tracing of meat products throughout the entire food chain. The system assists with establishing animal identification through the collection of a biological sample of a particular animal for subsequent DNA analysis.
This tissue sample, collected soon after birth, is taken and preserved in 2-D matrix coded cones using the INTEGRI-TAG™ SYSTEM. The 2-D codes are read with a cheap digital camera and the position of the sample with its corresponding eartag number is then stored in the database. The tissue is then either dissolved with a weak NaOH solution or the entire tissue sample is extracted for further processing.
Partnering Opportunities
Partnering opportunities exist virtually with any entity that provides management assistance services to animal industries, be it in the form of hard- or software or consultative sales.
